The Atlantic, Ballina, and Chicken Strips

Hello dear reader! Thank you for coming back for more! Today was a lot of walking but oh so wonderful. Also, regarding my title, it isn't exactly in chronological order, but it does say ABCs! So that is fun I thought.

Tuesday, March 5th

  • Breakfast: scrambled eggs, toast, and tea

    • Eggs: 6/10, nothing too terrible but not the greatest

    • Toast: 9/10, absolutely scrumptious

    • tea: 9/10, also amazing but I burned my tongue a wee bit

  • Shopping in Donegal! Bought some lovely souvenirs for my family!!

  • Drove through Mullaghmore Peninsula and saw the ATLANTIC OCEAN and the castle where Lord Mountbatten lived! It was such an awesome drive and very rainy and windy when we got out but I didn't mind!

  • Quick stop visiting W.B. Yeats' grave at St. Columba's in Drumcliffe and had a croissant and cappuccino!

  • Lunch in Sligo: chicken strips at the Fiddlers Creek Pub

    • 6/10, they also burned my tongue and so I didn't enjoy them to their full potential

  • BEACH! BEACH VISIT! It was absolutely amazing and the Atlantic Ocean is so pretty!!! We also were adventurers and did some rock climbing and rock skipping (very unsuccessful, they really just hit the water and sank immediately). Then we continued onto Ballina where we are staying for the night!

  • Dinner at the hotel: Caesar salad, pan roasted chicken, cheesecake

    • These hotel dinners have been HITTING. Salad: 7/10, there was a fried poached egg (?) on top of it which I really did not enjoy but the dressing was bomb dot com

    • Pan roasted chicken: 9/10, it was crispy but not fried which was lovely and the veggies and mashed potatoes that came with it were magically delicious

    • Cheesecake: 6/10, there was an almond in the middle? So I am glad neither Rowan nor Chizzy ordered it because our tree nut allergic queens could not have withstood that

All in all a truly wonderful day! I started a new book (The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels by Janice Hallett) and was reading it on the coach, so far so good!!!
